An avid collector of both ethnographic art and books, our client wanted a simply styled bookcase to house a portion of her collection. This contemporary design mixes cases of rift cut red oak in a wenge finish, with natural hickory shelves, artfully edged in zebrawood. Instead of the usual shelf pins, there are slots in the sides of the cases, allowing shelves to be pulled out partially to add varying depths to the books and artwork displays.
